30% more than in 2020

The Innovation Award jury has now received all the applications for this year’s most high-profile competition in the energy industry. The jury can confirm high participation from a tough and exciting crowd. Tarjei Nødtvedt Malme says it is great to see that there are almost 30 % more nominations compared to 2020 with a broader scope of large, small, new, and established players. It also reflects how the industry is pushing innovative technology and solutions much harder throughout the whole sector.

Reflective of the industry

“We see that there are many innovative solutions in the traditional oil and gas domain, but also many more than before within renewable energies or technologies with cross-sectorial aspirations and benefit. This is in line with how the industry is evolving and necessary for the transition we are part of to provide secure and environmentally friendly energy solutions to the world.”

Finalists revealed in August

The jury is currently working on going through all of the 100 applications and making sure that they are ready for the finalists’ announcement in August. The finalists will get the opportunity to present their nominations at the ONS 2022 Technical Sessions. The winner will be announced on Tuesday 30 August at the ONS Conference.
