Joining the ONS team

New Communication Director

Inger Johanne Stenberg will be our new Communication Director, starting this August.
Inger Johanne has studied journalism and Russian language and politics, and has a background as an oil & industry journalist from NRK. She comes from the position as Account Director in Gambit Hill+Knowlton Strategies.

“I’m really excited to be part of setting the energy agenda. We need powerful meeting places and constructive discussions to handle the changes we’re in the middle of, and ONS is just that. I believe the best way to find good solutions, that work in the long run, happens when people come together from both traditional and new industries, and dare to trust each other. I want to tell those stories, not only every other year, but every day.” Says Inger Johanne.

New Programme Director

Benedicte Thu Nørgaard Økland will be our new Programme Director, starting 1 September. Benedicte has a background as Director of Government Relations in Telenor, Chief of Staff in Oslo kommune, and Cluster CEO of Construction City. “I look forward to joining the strong ONS Team and taking part in shaping the new energy future. Keeping Norway´s leading position for the global energy industry, in the midst of the transformation driven from industry-, financial- and political demand, is more important than ever. We must stay relevant and provide all our partners with unique insights, inspiration, and common ground. I look forward to working with ONS partners of all kinds to keep building trust, innovation, and collaboration across the energy sector,” says Benedicte in a comment.

New Project Manager

Ellinor Meling is starting in ONS in August as a Project Manager. Ellinor is an engineer and has worked in the oil and gas industry for 30 years, in companies such as Aker and Statoil.
In 2012, she established her own company, a company that provided services and technology to various operators. For the past year, she has been employed by the Solar Energy Cluster as a project manager with responsibility for the Stavanger office.

“There is an exciting and demanding energy transformation happening right now, and this will affect all of us. We need to adjust to remain relevant. I look forward to be a part of the team developing ONS 2022. The goal is to create a meeting place where a wide range of players from the energy sector will participate, where networks across industries are established, where innovative ideas takes place.” says Ellinor.
