Dr. BENALI will be a speaker at the Opening Plenary Session of ONS 2024, following the formal Ceremony with HRH The Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre. CEO of Equinor, Anders Opedal, CEO of TotalEnergies, Patrick Pouyanné, Executive Director of IEA, Fatih Birol, Commissioner for Infrastructure, Energy and Digitalization, African Union Amani Abou-Zeid, Vice President, Europe, Breakthrough Energy, Ann Mettler, and Author and Clean Energy Expert Varun Sivaram are also speakers in the Opening Plenary Session, moderated by CEO, Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation and Professor at Princeton, Lynn Loo.

Dr. BENALI and the other speakers will discuss a more sustainable energy future, the global energy outlook and need for speed to combat climate change and other critical emergencies of the century.

The full programme of ONS can be found here at ons.no. ONS gathers over 60000 visitors, has around 1000 speakers at nine different venues every second year. The main theme for ONS 2024 is Imagine. This theme is built on four pillars: Climate, Security, Leadership and Technology. It is a theme where we not only imagine the possibilities but truly call for action, discussing the ways in which change can be made possible.

In 2024 ONS will be celebrating our 50th anniversary with conferences and events without comparison. Building on our history, the ONS Foundation will take the opportunity to look towards the future, to discuss what lies ahead and to lead the way forward for the energy industry as a driving force for energy transition and promoting energy.
