Young people from the energy industry had put much effort into their applications and the selection process was tough.
"It was truly inspiring to witness the dialogues and discussions among the ONS Young Leaders. This is adiverse group with varying personalities and perspectives, yet they all share a common enthusiasm and a shared commitment to making a positive impact on theenergy industry," says ONS Young Project Manager, Nora Andersen.
The appllicants had to fulfill the follwoing criteria:
• Be based in Norway.
• Have good English skills.
• Be under the age of 35 and over the age of 20.
• Be committed to the Talent Programme.
• Currently work in an energy-related profession.
Eight applicants were selected with goal of nurture young professionals and equip them with the tools they need to make a significant impact in the energy industry.”
In their first meeting Camilla Salthe, SVP Field Life Extension in Equinor started off the meeting with a “knowledge & Insight” presentation with a few key points to inspire the group of future leaders.
She focused on taking chances, say yes to opportunities and find the right balance, and most importantly of all:
“As a leader, you can ask stupid questions.”
ONS Young Leader Programme is in collaboration with Bjørnson Organisasjonspsykologene, as part of the collaboration they will follow the group throughout the process. For this first session they focused on motivational psychology and personal growth. They inspired the participants to create their own personal plan moving forward: Each participant had to focus on 3 key questions:
- What are their strengths?
- Development areas
- Development plan
In beginning of December, the group will yet again meet and continue their path on the YoungLeaders talent programme.
The ONS Young Leader Programme is sponsored by DNO.
