ONS Conference

Strong voices from all over the world graced our conference stage this ONS.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway opened ONS 2024 and was followed by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and the ONS Conference Committee Chair, Remi Eriksen, Group President and CEO, DNV.

Net Zero Markets

Net Zero Markets our arena where wind, hydrogen, CCUS, solar and battery/energy storage got the main stage. New themes this year included nuclear and green shipping. The arena had more than 230 speakers from 20 countries on several stages and covered a broad range of topics highly relevant for the energy transition.

Hall 4 was given a brand-new concept this year with exhibitors and stages merged together - bringing the buzz to an all-time high!

Centre Court

Under the headline “energy & society” visitors were invited into the Centre Court arena in hall 9. The short and focused talks and panels explored everything from seabed minerals, to geopolitics, the talent war and energy transition. Centre Court was completely packed every single session this year!

Young

At ONS Young, students, young professionals, future students and middle school students attended sessions and debates at three stages, the Jungle, Funkytown and Speaker's Corner, throughout the arena. The Young arena also included a Partner Park where students, pupils and young professionals could chat with representatives from the energy industry.

Among the speakers were Anders Opedal, Jan Egeland, Lise Klaveness, Oda Bjerkan, Karoline Andaur, Andreas Bjelland Eriksen, Anita Krohn Traaseth and Kristin Kragseth.

Technical Sessions

Technical Sessions opened for applicants to 5 main challenges already in November and had a record number of 500 applications. The arena in Hall 5 had a proper "facelift" this year, with brand new stages and a food area in the middle, accompanied by a golf simulator. In addition to Technical Sessions, the new concept Tech Talks - short and focused panels, became a hit in this arena.

Scale-Ups

The Scale-Ups arena invited everyone to a relaxed and cozy stage and mingling area connecting scale-ups, corporate ventures, private equity companies, and everyone interested in scaling up new solutions in the energy industry. Scale-Ups was integrated into the Net Zero Markets arena and exhibition, which created a unique atmosphere filled with entrepreneur talks and exciting inspiration across industries.

ONS+

Every night during ONS bars and pavilions downtown have been opened for debates and live podcasts. ONS’ own arena Energy Square was fully packed several times during the week, both during the ONS Young students event Monday night and during debates.

Stavanger harbour was filled to the brim with boats and ships during ONS and 4000 people attended the debates on boats, bars and pavillions.

The free concert Wednesday night with Dagny and Vettche attracted both young and old, and filled up the square and far out along the harbour. At one point, there were over 22,000 registered cell phones in the area.
