10 reasons why you should come to ONS 2024

There are countless reasons why you should go to ONS 26 - 29 August, but we understand how it sometimes can be hard to navigate through the big programme, all our arenas and really understand why ONS is relevant to YOU. We have narrowed it down, so here are 10 reasons why you should not miss out on ONS 2024.

1. Learn from industry leaders on stage

ONS is like a campus with much to choose from, and with hundreds of speakers across various sessions and arenas, your company might even be represented! Learn something new, or support your coworkers on stage by using our filtration function in the ONS Programme. Simply search for company name and you will find all the speakers representing that specific company.

2. Tech to the people!

Stay up to date on the latest trends and discover the newest technology and innovations in the industry. On our Technical Sessions stage, in the middle of the exhibition, you will be able to see our speakers on stage and then see the solutions from stage outside in the exhibition. This encourages exchanging of ideas and an interactive environment where industry professionals can solve real-life problems.

3. Expand your network

ONS is one of the world’s leading energy meeting places with more than 60 000 visitors from almost 100 countries, making it the perfect arena for you to expand your network, meet new customers, reconnect with existing ones, and connect with industry professionals of all ages and occupations.

4. Unwind at ONS+ every night

Join us every night in downtown Stavanger for ONS+. Enjoy pavilions, boats, bars, nightclubs, debates, live podcasts, music and refreshments in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. ONS+ is a must when attending ONS and the perfect place to unwind after a long day at the exhibition. The programme for ONS+ is bigger than ever, so we can guarantee there is something for everyone to enjoy.

5. Let the young voices be heard

ONS Young provides a dedicated arena for young professionals and students. We let the young voices be heard, and our programme is specially designed for students, apprentices, young professionals and middle school students.
This year we are introducing our Tech Tours at ONS Young. This is a guided tour through the Exhibition with visits to several companies for introductions. In addition to this we have made a programme called Net Zero for young: the Energy Transition Tapas, where the young can get a proper introduction to net zero markets and renewable energy. Encourage your young colleagues to visit ONS Young to learn, network and have fun!

6. Your competitor is there (or maybe your new customer?)

There has never been a wider range of companies across the full energy industry represented at ONS. We know that meeting places for old and new connections is what makes business flourish, and at ONS you get that. Our many network arenas outside the programme venues, the side events, and a top-notch exhibition with companies truly making an effort to stand out, this is the place to be. We have countless stories of new deals and connections being made, and maybe you are next? BUT! Remember to plan your presence to get the most out of it.

7. Net Zero Markets

In 2022 we introduced the brand-new arena, Net Zero Markets. This concept explores renewable energies like CCUS, hydrogen, offshore wind, solar energy, and battery/energy storage. This year we are also adding green shipping and nuclear to the programme. The arena has been moved to Hall 4 and includes three stages surrounded by exhibitors and dedicated Net Zero Markets network arena.

8. Scale-Ups

Now it will be even easier for the Scale- and Start-Up companies to find new partners, investors, or customers, which gives the energy industry easier access to emerging businesses. The Scale-Ups arena will have a programme on stage, including topics such as AI, capital strategies, regulations and policies, recruiting and much more! The Scale-Ups arena in Hall 4 is next to the Net Zero Markets arena.

9. Run for life – literally, with ONS and The Norwegian Cancer Association

For the first time the ONS and The Norwegian Cancer Association work together to create ONS+ Global Relay for life. On Wednesday 28th of August young and old gather to run from the exhibition arena at Tjensvoll and downtown. Sign up today and help us show that energy and health goes together! 10. Avoid the FOMO

Avoid feeling like you missed out! All around the exhibition you will find work areas free to use, Wi-fi and quiet areas for virtual meetings, allowing you to spend the full day at ONS, and still get some work in, ensuring you don’t miss out on any vital opportunities. It’s a win-win for both employers and employees.

AND: Do not forget to plan. Our extensive programme and 1 kilometre long exhibition can be overwhelming if you do not prepare ahead of your visit to ONS. We recommend downloading our app (available summer 2024), and using it to plan your visit , create your schedule, optimise your time, and navigate the exhibition halls. You can make your own programme, search for speakers, keywords, arenas and companies in the filter in the programme. In addition to this, you can use the map over the exhibition and arenas to navigate or to find a company’s stand.
